White sage used throughout the ages in ceremonies and rituals to support the cleansing of the home and workspace. It is also traditionally used to help clear negative energies.

How to use:
Before lighting your sage, take the time to prepare your space. Remove any excess clutter and open windows, closets, and doors. You may like to visit each room and ring a bell to awaken the energy that is present.
Place your sage into a fireproof bowl or your shell. Burn a candle, set an intention, and then light the sage using the candle. Blow the sage until the embers are glowing.
If you are smudging yourself, you can use your hands to move the smoke over the front and back of your body.
If you are smudging someone else, you can start from the crown space above the head and make your way down the front of the body, then asking the person to turn around. You can repeat this process.
If you are smudging a space, begin smudging by ensuring the smoke makes its way into all corners of the room. Direct the smoke out through windows and doorways.
Once you’ve finished smudging, you can extinguish your sage by rubbing it in dirt or stamping it out in a ceramic bowl. (Do not put your stick out in water). You may wish to return leftover ash to the earth.

Palo Santo
Palo Santo is a sacred tree that grows in select parts of South America. Its name translates to ‘Holy wood’. It has been used for centuries by shamans in ritual prayer, ceremonies and healing, known for its metaphysical purification properties and clearing negative energies.
Ancient healers believed the Palo Santo tree had magical and healing properties that would only be cultivated if the tree was allowed to live a full life and be given a respectful death. They would only use wood from naturally fallen Palo trees that had been lying peacefully for an extended period, after which they were then dried, aged and eventually burned in rituals.
They harvest Palo Santo in line with these guiding principles, hand-cut per traditional methods. It results in differing sizes and shapes. Use naturally fallen trees that have been lying peacefully for between 4-10 years. Seedlings are planted to replaced harvested trees restoring the palo santo population.
How to use:
Hold your Palo Santo stick at a 45-degree angle, pointing the tip down towards the flame. Allow the stick to burn for 30- 60 seconds, then blow it out.
Gently wave your Palo Santo stick in the air allowing the smoke to move. Either place the stick in an incense burner and leave it to smoke, or you can use it for smudging. Continue to blow on the Palo Santo to produce more smoke.
When finished, place a fireproof bowl – the glow will end on its own unless you continue to blow, producing smoke.
